Closed Loop Selects IFS Applications to Grow Environmental Packaging and Recycling Business
MELBOURNE, APRIL 11, 2012 - IFS, the global enterprise applications company, today announced that Australian-owned Closed Loop, a leader in environmental packaging and recycling solutions with operations in Australia and the U.K., will implement IFS Applications™ component-based ERP suite to support its rapid business growth.
Closed Loop offers environmental packaging and recycling solutions which help businesses manage their waste more effectively. Its programs use recyclable food or beverage packaging, which are captured, recycled and turned into new products - a closed loop process and approach.
The company which is rapidly expanding with the addition of new business units, product lines and the acquisition of new customers - needed an integrated information system that rapidly delivered improved business visibility and analysis while creating a platform for ongoing growth. Closed Loop selected IFS Applications because it was the only full-featured, easy-to-use ERP suite with reporting capabilities that could be implemented rapidly without extensive customisation.
"The IFS claims of business agility and configurability as opposed to customisation were seen as a positive to our business," said Closed Loop's Australian founder and Managing Director, Robert Pascoe. "When evaluating all our options we felt IFS was the right fit. We provide seamless end to end solutions for our customers and the IFS product provides the same to Closed Loop. Their core product provided the solution offering modular components and flexibility."
With a proven track record with large enterprises around the world - including Visy in Australia - IFS Applications can scale to accommodate rapid growth while allowing Closed Loop to purchase only the components it currently needs. By improving its internal reporting process, Closed Loop can continue to grow and expand without having to increase staff levels at the same rate.
"We are forecasting a positive Net Present Value for IFS Applications within three years," said Mr Pascoe. "While unusual for an infrastructure project, we see impending benefits such as improved cost management, product management and productivity savings."
With the implementation of IFS Applications scheduled for completion before the end of the financial year, Closed Loop expects to see a broad range of business improvements to underpin its growth strategy, including:
* Better cost management with clearer visibility of customer pricing and product costs;
* Improved product management with better intelligence and analysis across the business;
* Increased customer service levels through reporting and electronic invoicing;
* Efficiency savings through improved staff productivity and business process improvements;
* Improved strategic decision making capabilities with faster access to financial data.
In the first phase, Closed Loop is implementing the Supply Chain, Financials, Assets and Contact Management components with the opportunity to implement other modules post implementation. IFS Applications will automate many reports and transactions which have previously been processed manually, driving further efficiencies and cost savings.
"IFS Applications allows us to manage customer orders by exception," said Mr Pascoe. "That means that 60-70% of transactions can be processed automatically and we only need to manually review transactions which are large or unusual."
"As an innovative provider of agile ERP solutions, IFS Australia has experienced recent success by focussing on high-growth, asset-intensive and project-based industries, signing several new deals in the last six months," said Rob Stummer, Managing Director at IFS Australia and New Zealand. "We also see huge growth potential for innovative, environmentally conscious companies like Closed Loop and look forward to a long and successful partnership with them."
