IFS and COSOL announce partnership targeting the Australian mining industry

PERTH, FEBRUARY 22, 2013 – IFS, the global enterprise applications company, today announced that it has appointed leading professional service provider COSOL as its certified partner targeting the Australian mining industry.

To support its steady growth, IFS Australia will partner with COSOL to provide mining and resource companies with a tailored industry solution. This is in line with the IFS Group strategy of moving to a partner model for superior services delivery.

“With their specific focus on the mining industry, COSOL will help us deliver robust enterprise software applications to Australian mining companies,” said Rob Stummer, Managing Director at IFS Australia and New Zealand.

COSOL is recognised globally for its expertise in mining business processes and systems, having successfully completed hundreds of projects in the industry.

“In the last three or four years there has been a seismic shift in the market,” said Brad Skeggs, Executive Director of COSOL. “This shift has revealed a need for vendors such as IFS, whose experience in the asset-intensive industries is extensive and well-documented. Emerging miners have probably gone from 10% to 40% of activity and many are looking for a different, more contemporary and cost-effective choice in enterprise software.”

A team of COSOL consultants recently participated in IFS training sessions in Queensland for listed mineral exploration company CuDECO Ltd (ASX: CDU), which purchased IFS Applications™ late last year. COSOL consultants will also shadow users at WA-based civil construction and mining contractor Brierty Limited (ASX: BYL), which is also implementing IFS Applications.

“IFS Applications has proved itself as an outstanding enterprise applications suite for resource and asset-intensive industries and we are keen to work closely with IFS as they continue to gain significant momentum in this space,” said Mark Cooper, Executive Director of COSOL. “We have recognised synergies between both companies and we believe this partnership will greatly benefit our customers and both of our organisations.”

COSOL is a global service provider, specialising in optimising business processes and technology systems for the mining and minerals processing sector. Since forming in April 2000, COSOL has successfully worked in 18 countries with over 135 clients including Xstrata, BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Vale and Anglo-American. From greenfield to established sites and from emerging mine operators to Tier One global organisations, COSOL consultants combine their extensive mining industry knowledge with expertise on a range of Operational and ERP systems, including SAP and IFS, to deliver business relevant services and solutions.
